Purchasing a new-build home is exciting!
Unless you are purchasing a finished home (called a SPEC home), you can choose your colors, flooring, floor plan and a long list of options to make the home yours!
There are many websites like Realtor.com and New Homes and New Home Search that list some of what is available, but you really have only two ways of finding out….drive to every subdivision or contact a Realtor that works with new home builders.
A word of caution however, since Bill has worked for new home builders and has actually built and sold new homes, he KNOWs the ins and outs of purchasing a new home. Buyer beware…those nice friendly people in the sales offices that are eager to be your best friend are there to do anything they can to sell you one of their homes. They represent the BUILDER, NOT you! No matter how friendly they are to you, they do not have your best interests at heart (actually they have none of your interests at heart!). We can represent you AT NO EXTRA COST to you (since the builders already have real estate commissions built into their expenses), but we can only do that if one of us goes with you to the builders subdivision the first time. We recommend that you do all the research you want on the internet ahead of time, but when you want to actually view the homes, call us (or a qualified Realtor that has worked in the new home industry) and we will go with you to as many new home subdivisions as you want (or we can suggest ones based on your wants and needs).
Please do not call or visit the builder subdivisions without a qualified Realtor representing your interests.
